The Lobbyist

The Lobbyist is the third studio album by American-Australian hard rocker Diesel. It features twelve tracks: four live, five acoustic, and three studio recordings. The album was released on 9 August 1993 via EMI Records and was co-produced by Diesel with Don Gehman. It peaked at No. one on the ARIA Albums Chart and followed directly after his previous number-one album, Hepfidelity. In New Zealand it reached No. 27. The album's title is in "reference to the amount of time he spends in hotels." Three singles were released from the album: "Never Miss Your Water", "Masterplan" and "I've Been Loving You Too Long". The album was certified gold in Australia. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1994 Diesel won Best Male Artist for the second of three times in a row. He was also nominated for Album of the Year for The Lobbyist and Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Producer of the Year for "Never Miss Your Water" – the latter nomination also covered his work on "Masterplan" and "I've Been Loving You Too Long". The three studio tracks on The Lobbyist were added to the 1993 European release of Hepfidelity.
