Mann Made Hits is the first compilation album by British pop group Manfred Mann. After lead vocalist Paul Jones left the band in mid-1966, EMI Records chose to sign him as a solo performer once the band's contract expired. When the band signed with Fontana Records, EMI started issuing archival recordings in response. Mann Made Hits is made up of 14 recordings taped at EMI Studios between December 1963 and March 1966, and includes most of Manfred Mann's hit singles released during their contract with EMI alongside B-sides and EP tracks. His Master's Voice released Mann Made Hits on 9 September 1966, credited as "Manfred Mann with Paul Jones" to capitalize on Jones' solo career. The album became a commercial success and Manfred Mann's final top-20 album for a decade, reaching number 11 on Record Retailer's albums chart. It has since been reissued on CD with various bonus tracks added. It received primarily favourable reviews upon the release, with music critics praising the selection of songs included. Retrospective assessment has considered it one of Manfred Mann's best vinyl compilation albums.
