Gothic Summer is the sixth studio album by Australian duo the Veronicas, released on 22 March 2024. It was announced in October 2023. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jess said "The whole theme of Gothic Summer is that it's basically exploring social commentary on what we think is reality versus how we create our reality. It's a very metaphorical album." The duo also reported that some songs had been influenced by bands like The B-52's and The Cramps: "[It's] more of the music that we grew up listening to, rather than what you would expect The Veronicas to make for a radio song, if that makes sense."
