We Waited by the Hotel Vending Machine

We Waited by the Hotel Vending Machine

The Kettle Clicked After You Fell Asleep

I Still Remember the Warmth of Your Car Seat

We Shared the Last Booth at the Empty Diner

You Left Your Tote Bag Hanging by the Door

Your Name Was Still Written on the Spare Key Tag

I Found Your Polaroid Behind the Kitchen Clock

You Stayed Until the Rain Stopped Hitting the Wind

We Watched the Airport Lights from the Parking Dec

I Saw Your Lamp Turn off While I Was Walking Home
