Laurent Sureau began learning piano at a very young age, then classical, contemporary and traditional percussion. DEM, awards, state diplomas in musical training and percussion, certificate of aptitude for amplified contemporary music validate his academic studies, but it is out of the boxes that he prefers to act and create. His encounter with the Hang and the handpans was decisive in his choices of composition and career as a soloist. In particular, he took back some pieces from the classical repertoire with 6 to 8 handpans around him, which earned him particular attention. He is also a songwriter and performs in several projects with eclectic musical styles. You could find him in Owa, OLOJi, TwinPan, and Unlimited his solo, but also in the 1st part of Ben l'Oncle soul, Lo'Jo, Faada Freddy, Susheela Raman, Sandra N'Kaké, Brigitte Fontaine, Mathieu Boogaerts, ... He has performed in France and around the world alongside Morgane Ji, Rauni, Imad Saleh, Nour, Toma Sidibé, Le grand Rateau big band, the copper quintet Ars nova, Labulkrack... He works at the services of contemporary music on stage and in his teaching at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Grand-Poitiers in France and on Master The Handpan.
