Tora

First and foremost we are friends from high school who grew up together in sunny Byron Bay. Our music is the fruit of our friendships and there is a deep sense of respect and camaraderie between the four of us. We spend a lot of our time making jokes, and are typically fun lovers who don’t take ourselves too seriously, but the music is very important to us and we pour a lot of care and attention into it’s creation. We believe in authenticity and uniqueness and are always striving to find new sounds as we are all multi instrumentalists, songwriters, producers and engineers so by default we self produce, mix and master all our own records. Since forming in 2013 we have enjoyed a lot of time abroad, touring the world and connecting with a myriad of people and places. While Byron Bay will always be home, travelling seems to greatly impact many of our creations, adding new colour and experience to what we hope will be a forever evolving sound. The word Tora, means ‘now’ in Greek, and we try to see that as a reflection of the music itself, staying current and allowing the music to be influenced by the moment. While this project’s main output is music, it has evolved into something much more and serves as an endless opportunity to explore, create and share what we love.
