Xandi

Xandi is a rap artist, hip-hop producer & recording/mix engineer based in Boston, and founder of Alien Nation Entertainment, an independent hip-hop record label. "This channel showcases my music, beats and a few of my favorite songs from other artists. Although I'm inspired by a wide range of rap artists and producers, such as MCs: Rakim, Digital Underground, 2Pac, Richie Rich, The Pharcyde, Slum Village, Producers: DJ Quik, Dr. Dre, Easy Mo Bee, Lord Finesse, That One (Chilean boom bap producer), Floppykat (Danish boom bap producer), Wadz the Funkfather (French g-funk producer), Steve Spacek (electronic), AFTA-1 (ambient beats) and J Dilla (Jay Dee) (R.I.P.), I nevertheless strive to blend my influences in unique ways in the perpetual pursuit of that "hot shit."" Raised in Salvador, Brazil, the mecca of Afro-Brazilian culture in Brazil, and Los Angeles during the 90's g-funk era, eventually settling in Boston, Xandi's rap music style ranges from dusty, sample-based boom bap, to hints of g-funk, to modern, sample-free original compositions featuring live instruments, analog synthesizers and modern plug-ins. The underground Hip-Hop scene has always been #1, but collabos have led in interesting directions (future soul/R&B, dancehall & afrobeats).
