Hi! My name is Maurice “Mori” Liu (刘颂源) and I'm a Chengdu based classical guitarist and recording artist.  I'm 31 and I was born and raised in Fuzhou, China.‍ I started learning guitar in high school, mostly self-taught by attending various international guitar festivals throughout China during 2012-2015. In 2016, I briefly studied with Guillem Pérez-Quer, who helped shaping my style of playing greatly. In 2020, I graduated from New England Conservatory of Music with honors and completed my Master’s Degree and Graduate Diploma in guitar performance with Eliot Fisk, who is the last direct pupil of Andrés Segovia. My passion for video game led me to arranging its music for the guitar. I have been performing on my YouTube Channel since October, 2021 and I have recorded over 300 original solo guitar arrangements of music written by acclaimed Japanese composers including Nobuo Uematsu, Masayoshi Soken, Koichi Sugiyama, Yasunori Nishiki, and many others. As of September 2026, my discography includes 29 albums and 3 EPs, featuring collections of music from iconic video game series such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda, as well as my own compositions. In August 2025, I joined Resonera Studio as a VGM session musician.
