I’m Marie, a Norwegian fiddler, vocalist, and songwriter, known for my distinctive style as "the one with the fiddle." Born on July 1, 1985, and raised in Vinstra, Gudbrandsdalen, I began playing the fiddle at 11 and have since then made a solid career blending folk music with pop, appealing to listeners of all ages. I studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music, graduating with a master’s degree in folk music performance in 2010. My debut album, "Framtida," released in 2012, and my new album "Her og Nå", 2025 received critical acclaim, highlighting my ability to craft beautiful, storytelling music. I've been fortunate to collaborate in various large productions, and I gained recognition through 12 seasons of the beloved TV show "Hver gang vi møtes" on TV2, where my music and stage presence have created iconic moments. Additionally, I was a soloist at the Norwegian Military Tattoo in Oslo Spektrum and in 2015 I participated in Melodi Grand Prix finale with the song "Ta meg tilbake." My work has been warmly received by the press, Stavanger Aftenblad summarizes it best: “the melodies are beautiful, the lyrics flow effortlessly, and Klåpbakken sings and plays exquisitely.” I’m approaching 5 million streams on Spotify, reflecting my growing popularity among both longtime and new listeners. With an energetic stage presence, my folk roots and a talented group of musicians by my side, I aim to provide my fans with experiences filled with magical moments.
