Nico Wonderdust is the creator behind Watershed Records — an ever-expanding world of music, characters and stories that refuses to stay in one era, genre or box. What started as a music project grew into something considerably stranger: a universe populated by artists with their own identities, histories, relationships and stories, all told primarily through music. From 1940s swing and 1950s doo-wop to country, funk, old westerns and everything in between, Nico treats every song as another opportunity to expand the world. Real performers and collaborators can step into the world alongside its fictional artists, making the line between music, character and storytelling deliberately blurred. Behind it all, Nico writes the songs, creates the characters and builds the stories — while keeping the person behind the name largely out of the spotlight. No photos, no obsession with personal fame, and no desire to turn the creator into the main character.
