WasaVi is an artist who draws listeners into a decadent, fantastical world through vivid themes and striking imagery. His work intertwines vibrant storytelling and a vocal style rooted in chant, expressing beauty found within pain and inner conflict. He began playing the electric organ at age three and composing at six, later exploring saxophone, vocal music, and shamisen. As a ballroom MC, he holds the most appearances in Japan, and in 2022, he served as MC for Jägermeister’s first Asian “Night Embassy.” From 2020 to 2023, he was the music producer for “Benefit one MONOLIZ” in the world’s first professional dance league, D.LEAGUE. “My goal is to save my past self.” WasaVi believes that his listeners are, in truth, versions of himself who once struggled. Moving between ideal and reality, honesty and façade, he continues creating a lush and desperate fantasy world to comfort both his younger self and anyone suffering today. Blending orchestral and ethnic textures, his raw yet mystical soundscape becomes a sanctuary for those suffocated by the world’s forced optimism. In this space where poison and sensuality, prayer and salvation coexist, WasaVi’s music offers a quiet light—like a new breath emerging from the cracks of everyday life.
