It's hard to say if it's traditional or not. It's truly hard to say. Zachariah Malachi just learned from the great country artists that he grew up on and started writing and performing music as to what he knew it to be. To him, honky tonk music was always about the harder side of life. It was always about the cheating, the drinking, the heartache and the hard livin'. You can hear these topics resonate through the words and melodies of the songs he writes and performs. Having been raised partly in the Metro Detroit area as well as the rural east side of Tennessee, the combination of the two has fused together to make this style of honky tonk music. In October of 2019, Zachariah started recording his debut solo album under the direction of producer and "Nashville Cat", Jimmy Capps. This album is currently in the works. In December of 2019, he recorded several songs including "Lonesome as Me" at Jimi Hendrix's famous Electric Lady Studios in New York City. The session was produced by guitarist Jackson Frederick Smith and songwriter/crooner Nicole Atkins. He currently lives in Nashville with the family of Jim Ed Brown of the country music trio, The Browns. Aside from performing and songwriting, Zachariah produces a YouTube series on country music history titled "Hillbilly Heaven".
