Antidoping is a Mexican band originally from Coyoacán, Mexico City, founded by brothers Manuel and Pedro Apodaca in 1992. They are considered a leader of reggae in Mexico and one of the most influential groups in the genre in Latin America. They have released seven albums throughout their career, which have become classics in Spanish-language reggae and popular Mexican music. Their most recent project, “Knock Out,” was mixed by the Jamaican reggae legend Errol Brown, engineer for Bob Marley, Cultura Profética, Alborosie, Culture, Dennis Brown, and Alton Ellis, among many others. Antidoping was directly involved in the Razteca Movement, which unified reggae groups in Mexico. A band that began playing in the streets of Coyoacán, they have since traveled through a significant portion of the Mexican Republic, a number of countries in Latin America, the United States, Canada, and Europe. They have performed in the most important venues in Mexico, as well as at festivals such as Vive Latino, where they presented three times, in addition to other more niche festivals in the reggae and ska genre, such as Reggae Live Festival, Distrito Zion, and Skatex, among many others, where they have shared the stage with major national and international icons.
