Indie pop darlings Porcelain Moon (formerly known as Emerger) are back with a slate of new music and a shiny new name. The Capetonian duo is the musical fusion of husband and wife team, Emma Goode (lead vocalist/pianist) and Gerry Matthee (producer/multi-instrumentalist), who have been spinning indie pop daydreams into reality since meeting in high school and further honing their craft, studying side-by-side towards jazz and classical music degrees at the University of Cape Town. Their sound can be described as dreamy, synth-driven melodies, cinematic progressions, honeyed pop vocals, and punchy beats. They’ve been compared to the likes of Haley Williams (Paramore), London Grammar and Oh Wonder. Emma’s vocals are at once intimate and soaring, floating across bouncing grooves, lush 80s/90s-inspired synth and drum machine textures, and rounded out by Gerry’s tasteful guitar and bass parts with a modern production twist. The group has played on notable South African radio and have been showcased numerous times by BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 6 Music. They have been featured in various Apple Music and Spotify editorial playlists with a cumulative total of over 900 000 streams and counting. They have opened for some of South Africa's biggest acts and received international acclaim with their first single "Break & Fall" selected from nearly 5000 entrants as winner of the Avid and Abbey Road Studios Song Contest.
