Shape of Water is a genre-fluid electronic art rock band hailing from Manchester, UK. The duo, Rox Capriotti and Luca De Falco, formed the band in 2018 after playing together in their previous project, The Lotus. Their music draws inspiration from iconic bands such as Queen, Depeche Mode, Muse, Coldplay, The Killers, and Radiohead, while maintaining a unique sound that defies genre boundaries. In 2020, Shape of Water released their debut album, Great Illusions, which received critical acclaim from major publications such as Rolling Stone.de, Classic Rock, and Metal.de. The band quickly adapted to the challenges of the pandemic, live-streaming several performances and releasing an EP called Lockdown On Mars. They were finally able to play live again in the summer of 2021, supporting Radkey, Bad Touch, Christian Death and playing in several UK festivals. Shape of Water's new album, Amor Fati, was released on October 28, 2022, via Eclipse Records. The album takes its name from Nietzsche's philosophy of determinism, exploring the concept of fate and the meaninglessness of free will. The band has received high praise from major publications such as Classic Rock Magazine, GBHBL.com, and Paper Blog, with BBC Introducing Lancashire hailing their new song, Starchild, as "captivating and unique." With their unique sound and powerful live performances, Shape of Water is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the world of electronic art rock.
