Shakila Ahmed

Shakila Ahmed is a Bangladesh born, American singer, composer and songwriter. Trained in Indian classical music from the early age, she started her music career as a child artist on radio & TV. Initially, she was trained by Sanjeev Dey and later by the revered Ustad Mohammad Dilshad Khan. She developed the art of Ghazal Gayaki (style) which became her forte, although she sings many genres of music including Pop, Folk, Nazrul Geeti, Sufi Poetry in classical scales and Geets. She is a recipient of several music awards as best vocalist. Her music is truly representative of the entire Indian subcontinent.
