FRIEDBERG is the brainchild of the artist previously known as Anna F. Anna was initially discovered by Lenny Kravitz, who immediately invited her to support him on his European tour, spawned two gold-selling solo albums via Universal Music in her native Austria, and in Germany and Italy. Growing frustration with major label bureaucracy, Anna promptly relocated herself to Berlin and on to a Beat Poet influenced road trip across California, where she fell in love with Joshua Tree, settling there to write poems and songs in isolation. Holed up in an abandoned hut in the middle of the desert, she called up her friends, Daniel Brandt (Brandt Brauer Frick), and Matthias Biermann (Roosevelt) who both happened to be in LA at the same time. They set up an improvised studio and enthralled by the vastness of the desert, began to jam out a raw and minimalist guitar-driven sound. Thus FRIEDBERG was created, Anna being joined by Emily Linden, Laura Williams and Cheryl Pinero.
