First formulated at the Council of Nicaea in 325, the text is considered the ecumenical form of the creed, to which all Christian churches refer and which forms the basis of almost all musical settings of the Creed. To mark this occasion, Carus Verlag Stuttgart commissioned six composers from diverse cultural backgrounds to contribute their respective musical languages in a variety of choral arrangements. The result is a work that also symbolizes the unity within the diversity of Christian denominations. Six internationally renowned composers have thus created a unique collective work: Mårten Jansson (Sweden), Keiko Harada (Japan), Graystone Ives (Great Britain), Victoria Vita Poleva (Ukraine), Martín Palmeri (Argentina), and Dominick DiOrio (USA).
