Heirloom is a concert series presenting compositions with a unique blend of the familiar and innovative. The ensemble explores musical narratives and ancestral relationships through three distinct performances with the Johnstone Fund for New Music at the Short North Stage series, a family-friendly interactive concert at the Bexley Library , and an intimate cocktail pairing with mixologists at Seventh Son Brewing Co. Performers on this program are Sam Johnson (cello) and Devin Copfer (violin). Featured on our program are beloved works in the violin/cello repertoire by Zoltán Kodaly and Erwin Schulhoff, as well as lesser-known works by Adolphus Hailstork and a world premiere by Sharon Udoh (Commissioned by the Johnstone Fund for New Music).
