The Megatons Wild Rockabilly from the late 50's 4, 3, 2, 1, blast off, we head into the stratosphere with the frantic and crazy sound of French quintet The Megatons and their nuclear fuelled brand of desperate rock ‘n‘ roll. Wild and frantic west coast style instrumental mayhem, a screaming vocal and an out of the world show is guaranteed. The Megatons boldly go where no band has gone before with an intergalactic frenzy of sound. The Megatons: was created in Paris France in 2009 with the ambition to regain the wild sound of the wild rockin’ bands that prevailed in the northern United States in the late 1950s. The adventure is attempted by men of experience, all real rockers and musicians since the 80’s In France in the early eighties while everybody was into rockabilly, some French young Parisians known as the Jokers revitalized that forgotten style. Their first album was released in 1984 “Rockin’ in Paris”. They played on all stages in Europe until the early 90s sharing the stage with Charlie Feathers, Flying Saucer, Eddie Bond, Ray Campi, Hasil Adkins. In 2009 bassist Stephane of the deceased former band decided to start a new adventure with Didac on guitar. They were joined by saxophonist Jerome also a former Jokers, Lulu on drums and Charlie on guitar and vocals. Influenced by the world of American hot rod 1950 made by coachbuilders such as Barris brothers, Darryl Starbird, Alexander brothers, Ed Roth and many others, their compositions talk about stories of unhappy heart, detective stories, brief counter, epics mechanical ... They are traditionally mixed in concert with vitamin times rock 'n' roll in the late 1950s and early 60s. In 2011 they released their first album under the name of Megatons: “Hydrogen Bomb”. This album presented on television JJDA on NT1, ranks top 5 HD Radio Diner. The Megatons occur on the Parisian scene “La Boule Noire” before turning throughout France. In March 2012 released the 1st single “Wild Wild Party”, they go on tour in May with the American pioneer of Rock and Roll Johnny Fay (which made its first concert in 1957). providing the first part with their "wild rockin' show" and backing Johnny Fay in the second half. In February 2013 released the 2nd single “Wild Man” this is an opportunity for another tour which will take on the roads of Europe with dates in Italy, Netherlands, Spain, England, Germany. This single is broadcast on several radio stations around the world and led to the entrance to Black Cat Rockabilly Hall of Fame Europe. The new release a EP in September 2013 “Brand New 59” and the album “Count Down” in January 2014 are the result of a matured work, consisting of original songs recorded in the studio “Electrophonic Recordings” only with the original material of the 50s. In November 2013 concert at the legendary Parisian venue the “New Morning” is the starting of a new tour all over Europe. In May 2015 The Megatons participated at the “Rockabilly Ball” North USA Tour, organised with White Lightning Records musicians, Johnny Fay, Neil Crash Coffin and David Loy. From Cleveland to New York City, 13 gigs in 15 days thru the Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York State. Needless to say that the guys know how to recreate the same energy and power of that turning point style between two decades. In the golden age of wild rock, guitars and saxophone were seen as weapons and the energy expended was inversely proportional to sales and looked more like the strength born of desperation confronted to a increasingly market monopolized by major companies and quieted down by teenagers pop idols.
