Astronauts was a long awaited record from those who heard the initial tracks. Written partially years before 'bedroom tapes', this album began before 'The Fantasia Tapes' was even finished. Ryan and her approach to genres takes an interesting turn, a stronger focus on rhythm and pitch exploration. From the math rock ventures in Six Hours and Somewhere New/What We've Discovered, to the alternate microtonal tunings of Abandoning You, this album is not shy to try new things.
