Persona 6 VERGS OST II follows after the ending of the first OST. Here the protagonist falls into the depths of the Shadow Realm after being betrayed by the illusionist leader, Ryuzen Hoshino and your own friend, Chiyo Mori, who was part of VERGS as well. After finally obtaining the Apple of Ouroborus, each party member, low in net value, is shot down and attacked by Chiyo as she betrays them, revealing her alliance to Ryuzen. Ryuzen deals the final blow to the protagonist as her body disintegrates in the sea of souls within the Shadow Realm. The waters of the shadow realm are full of souls that are bankrupt from the Shadow Market, and thus any person that falls in the water loses their individuality. In order to regain control of one’s identity, the protagonist must rediscover herself, revisiting her past. Through the past we learn the protagonists backstory as well as the other party members as we look for fragments of their soul. The Norns govern and control the Shadow Realm, making sure the waters of the realm are never disturbed and the bankrupt entrepreneurs never leave. The reason is because the entire water if nothing but a sea of shadows. When individuals are bankrupt in the shadow market, the SM card contains shadows that bestow power at the cost of eating or absorbing the soul of their user. If the soul no longer remains, the user themselves will be absorbed by the shadows in the card ,becoming a shadow themselves. In order to stop this issue from spreading, a bankrupt individual is brought down to the waters of the Shadow Realm before they turn. Understanding this, just how will the protagonist and her friends leave the Shadow Realm? Will they be able to rediscover their past and get over their trauma. And how will they respond to Chiyo Mori’s betrayal, including her alliance with their biggest foe Ryuzen Hoshino. Enjoy!
