This CD album, the Shenmue Orchestra Version, was released on April 01, 1999 - eight months before the Japanese release of the game proper (December 29, 1999). Releasing a live soundtrack album so long before Shenmue's release was a strange move on SEGA's part. But it sent a strong message that the forthcoming game was something special and commanded extraordinary hype and expectation. Enjoy - games and soundtracks like this don't come along very often.
