The windy city has had a rich tradition of rock music. Chuck Berry who is one of the genres daddys recorded his hits at Chess studios on Chicago's south side. The Rolling Stones recorded a number of tunes there in 1964 that were released on their 12 X 5 lp. Before they became Chicago and started putting out MOR stuff in the mid 70's the band was known as CTA and were a lot grittier. Then there are the Shadows Of Knight the great 60's garage band and many others.
