The music of Scotland has travelled quite a long distance. Not only is it known, but also practiced almost all over the World. Scottish exode to North America, Australia, India and South Africa took with it the best that Scotland could give to the World, its music. That is besides its Whisky!!! Groups of fans seem to pop up anywhere, and you'd find local bands playing in the most remote parts of the World, from Lapland to Russia, the Middel East and the South of Asia. Here, In Denmark, we even have competition going on between different bands practicing scottish music and dance, with all the regalia and the partying that follows. Certain scottish melodies do have a remote family link to either Norway or Denmark. So melodious and so inviting is scottish music either to dancing or to the pure enjoyment of its songs. And there is from patriotic lyrics to openly naughty bits of drunken sailors chants. Great poets, like Robert Burns, wrote either in plain english or in gaelic lyrics, reflecting the linguistic diversity of Scotland, to enchant or to comfort the sense of patriotism in the audience. Scottish music has certainly absorbed different streams of influences from Norse neighbourgs as well as blended Gaelic and Celtic traditional music. It surely influenced many music genres around the globe. It inspired world known composers such as Mendelshon, Bruch, etc. Beethoven himself made charming and lovely arrangements of many scottish melodies, and they do more than justice to the spirit and soul of any Scottsman! See my third channel "MoLahBel3" for more! Bagpipe, fiddle and the tin whistle are the most usual instruments used by traditional bands, with the accordeon and small or large drum sections added in large bands. The great Highland Bagpipe music became known to the world when it was adopted by military bands not only in Scotland, but throughout the British Empire, and it seems as vital as ever. Glen Scotia whisky from Wee Toon, Hazelburn Single Malt whisky, Founders Reserve whisky from Glen Garioch, and Blended Scotch whiskeys will be served dutifully, promptly and freely by my devoted butlers, if you come dressed in a kilt, like a true Scottsman! Received this cute poem as a PM, from my friend Elfi (Elfitude) and she allowed me to share it with you here: _______________ Par Elfi: Je me suis rendue à ta scottish party Mo, J'ai décidé d'y aller en bateau, d'un superbe Kilt, me suis parée, et en peu de temps suis arrivée, Puis, on m'a invitée à déguster, Divers élixirs aux noms singuliers, et d'une magnifique couleur ambrée. et, je me suis laissée emporter... les Corries m'ont fait vibrer, Avec Albannach, j'étais déchaînée, Et d'autres avec qui j'ai dansé, chanté.., Ce fut une belle soirée. Mais, il fallut rentrer... Dans mon bateau me suis laissée porter, Puis, quand je fus arrivée, Les escaliers montés, Dans mon lit, me suis couchée Avec mon Kilt toute habillée! _________________________
