The YouTube archive of Andy Hill and Ramón Tontasanta-Dominguez. The Old Guitarist is the self-same Ramón , a man of immeasurable years encountered by songwriter Andy Hill while collecting field recordings of ancient Arabo-Iberian and Sephardic folk tunes outside the city of Cadiz. His role as producer of the tracks featured on this site is not the conventional one. It involves neither knob twisting nor ego stroking. He simply sits in a corner and occasionally shakes his beads. If the track is good, he mutters, "Está bien hecho." If he disapproves, he goes outside to smoke. His impact on this corpore laboris is, like his age, beyond measure, and Hill maintains that he is something of a musical shaman. His personal motto is "La mejor vida es la vida oculta."
