Mark O'Connor Virtuoso Caprices and Other Solo Violin Music are some of the most difficult music ever performed on solo violin. After 25 years, O'Connor is still the only violinist who has ever been able to perform all six Caprices. This music was a staple of O'Connor's recitals and performances for many years. The Caprices were some of his first examples musically describing where classical violin and American fiddle meet. Also included in this Playlist are two other solo centerpieces of his concerts, the improvisation and his tribute to Benny Thomasson, (one of his teachers), a cross-tuned Midnight on the Water and Bonaparte's Retreat.
