Pop years: My pop years were both challenging and rewarding. I was given songs by composers Costas Haritodiplomenos, Christian Leibl and lyricists Georgos Mitsiggas, Thodoris Papadopoulos and Villy Sanianou. Songs that were pop, happy, songs which brought Joy to everyone! I remember those years, people of all ages would write to me, knock on my door, leave gifts outside my doorstep along with lovely loving letters, expressing and professing their love and admiration to me! Many of these children are now over 30 years old and I am still in touch with them today! All of my POP ERA ALBUMS became Platinum and Gold! The best part of my pop years, is the fact that wherever I may go, in whatever country I am in, people approach me and tell me in the gentlest of ways, that I have been a part of their lives.. and this always fills my heart with Joy, Love and Gratitude The worst part is that my record company of then, UNIVERSAL(which used to be called POLYGRAM), that although all of my albums with them became Platinum and Gold, never paid me a single Royalty.. Until today! I, being so busy those years trying to survive the Greek Music Industry pressures, working day and night and all the hours in between, working, performing, TV and Radio interviews in night clubs and concerts, appearances, personal life and everything which constitutes a life, didn' t think to ask about what was rightfully mine, although every year I would try to speak to someone, make an effort to find a solution, learn of ways and people who could help me find a solution and get compensated for all my years of work, but to no avail. The good news is that I am healthy and happy and industrious, creatively creating continuously on many levels of expressions with wonderful recognition and a very Enjoyable Life! With my latest album Re-bE I managed to define a big part of who I am today and then with my Voice Improvisation albums, I show yet another creative side of mine. The best news is that instead of allowing the record companies to"use, exploit and discard me" as they are usually more than willing to do to artists and musicians, I have managed to Save and Lead myself into safe creative havens Trusting myself and all that I Loved and all that Inspired me!
