Naseer Shamma is the product of more than 4000 years of string plucking in Babylon thru the music theories of the Middle Age's theoricians of Baghdad, Irak, like Mawsili and Ziryiab who took music teaching to Andalucia (Moslem Spain) and North Africa, thru to his late teacher Munir Bashir. Naseer Shamma has added substantially to the theorie and to the technique of playing OUD Lute, also with own compositions, and stands out as the best lute performer in our age. He makes the lute complain about and protest vehemently against what has happened to his native Irak during the last 20 years. He has played for appreciative audiences in almost all parts of the world, and has such an expessive and thought provoking repertoire. I enjoy and admire his music and his professionnal and artistic skills. You'll get an idea of what I mean if you check out my playlist "Naseer Shamma" to see for your self. Mo
