Saturday 17th January 2009. Studio One of the world famous Abbey Road Studios. As the clock turns to 7pm Elbow join the BBC Concert Orchestra and Chantage, Radio 3s Choir Of The Year, for a complete run through of their Mercury award winning album, The Seldom Seen Kid. Over the next hour the familar sounds of the album of 2008 are re-imagined into expansive and beautiful new shapes. A select audience of fans, family and assembled media reply with rapturous applause between tracks and complete silence as the band, orchestra and assembled voices combine to create something of quite remarkable beauty. This version of The Seldom Seen Kid will always be unique. Some of the tracks have never been performed live previously. The album has never been performed live in this manner, nor will it ever again.
