Julien Piacentino - Silent Earth (Ted Alexander Remix) Frenchman Julien Piacentino lays down some techno charged beats for Inside Out Records latest release. Consisting of 3 originals and one remix by Ted Alexander, ‘Celeste' is an EP that transpires deep within the realms of ambient darkness. Title track ‚Celeste‘ is structured around a simple bassline and is heavily decorated withsharp high hats and searing synths. It weaves effortlessly into a hypnotic rhythm, whilststabbing chords prod and poke in contrast with an atmospheric backdrop. Track two is called 'Fantom Menace' and with it, comes an air of obscurity and notablepresence. Building a vigorous yet minimal vibe, there's plenty of slapping percussion andslow building progression to trap you within it's industrial sounding walls. Julien's third original for this EP is 'Silent Earth'. It kicks off with some layered drums anda rather bare bassline, which eventually warms up and captures the essence of something living and breathing. Dark instrumentals lurk playfully behind a rich full bodied melody. Track four is Ted Alexander's remix of 'Silent Earth' and he chooses to spice it up withsome tribal ambiance and primal intensity. It possesses a consistent beat that almoststalks and crawls after you, never letting go until the last beat.
