The Beatles' Magical Orchestra LIVE!

The Beatles' Magical Orchestra: A project igniting Young People's passion for music through live, note-for-note recreations of The Beatles' classic recordings... In The Beatles' Magical Orchestra, a 40-piece ensemble authentically recreates the diverse orchestrations and styles of 20 classic Beatles recordings. In the tradition of Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts, the instruments take center stage so that the audience can now see who's playing what, where, when and how. For each song two areas will be explored: a brief introduction to the instrument(s) used and how they contribute to the song's overall effect. Selected passages will be demonstrated first, followed by a complete rendition of the song. Special attention will be given to the cases where non-traditional instruments are used, or where traditional instruments are used in non-traditional ways. Broadly put, the intended audience for this concert includes children and adults of all ages, though emphasis would be placed upon sparking the curiosity of grade school children, just as Beatlemania sparked the curiosity of their grandparents over 50 years earlier. So roll up, roll up for The Beatles' Magical Orchestra, a timely tribute to an exceptional musical group, their celebrated producer, Sir George Martin, their innovative engineer, Geoff Emerick, and the incomparable Leonard Bernstein, as we celebrate Abbey Road's 50th Birthday! And if you enjoy our not-for-profit Beatles live performances, PLEASE PLEASE help us continue our work by making a tax-deductible donation of any amount. Yes, even $5 makes a difference!
