One could easily assume it’s subject matter was benign however it’s not until you fully contemplate the lyrics that you realise it’s more about acceptance and sadness. You could be Mine You Could be mine could be called the resident “V8 Chevy” for the album with it’s cheeky guitar riff and it’s anthem style ode to freedom. It’s upbeat and gutsy as the first song on the album and makes you feel like doing something crazy in the midday sun. Sweet Sound Sweet Sound has a little ‘swag’ all of it’s own; something bluesy yet something cruisy. This tune is sultry and broody with Mae’s signature twang, yet it powers forward with a modern rock pulse and punchy Gretsch guitar. Dirty Air we Breathe This song has a gritty attitude with its slide guitar and industrial inspired sounds.
