UNESCO Chair on Transcultural Music Studies

The University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar regularly invites musicians from all over the world to Weimar. As a specific profile of a broadly understood musicology, Transcultural Music Studies approaches music within social processes and actual cultural contexts. The aim is not only to understand what music is but why it is, regardless from its place of origin or historical affiliation. https://www.hfm-weimar.de/tms
