Somewhere in my earliest years I developed a taste for music. It was always House, the first track I really fell in love with was Bomfunk MC's Freestyler. I'd hold the antenna of my radio just to get the best reception for those few minutes. With the influx of the Internet my music collection grew (on my 400mb harddrive). As I heard tracks like Driftwood - Freeloader come up on the radio I'd download them, good old P2P way. ---------------------------------------------------- On my 10th birthday my sister bought me a large pack of Stimorol gum bundled with DJ Jose's Hitmix 2001. I'd play that CD almost everyday in bed in my portable CD player, plugged in to an outlet with my dad's old over-ear headphones. A few of the tracks from that CD are in this playlist, truly memorable. ---------------------------------------------------- Somewhere in between that and the following another memorable thing happend. I stayed up until around 2am to listen to late night radio, they'd always play unpopular Trance and House. I had an empty cassette in the deck in case something came along. And indeed it came, I recorded a few tracks in a row and love them! It took me YEARS to id the tracks, I got around to ID'ing the last one only last year. ---------------------------------------------------- In 2003 I bought the Trance Energy Ten CD. I skimmed through it and didn't quite like it. I ripped three tracks to my PC. Then I brought it back to the store. What a mistake! I ended up getting infatuated by those three tracks. Still looking to buy that CD today! ...Random memory just pops up of me walking over a guys car who was playing "Umek - Gatex". I said "Trance Energy 10?" he said "Yep". ---------------------------------------------------- In the summer of 2006 I heard a radio ad for the new a A State of Trance 2006 CD. I still can't remember or understand why, but I hopped on my bike and bought it a few minutes after. It was a double album, the first CD "On the Beach" had the more mellow tracks. The second "In the Club", well speaks for itself. I loved it all, but one thing always bothered me. I had to get past the fast and heard beating to get to the good stuff. The breakdown, was what I really liked. Nevertheless, I played that CD so very much. ---------------------------------------------------- Eventually I found my way to Progressive House. Which is the perfection of my musical taste. Although I will never neglect the certain quality of these tracks.
