Gospel Songs from the Blackwood Brothers Quartet from the 50's through the 80's. J.D. Sumner, James Blackwood, and the rest were as good as any quartet of their day, and they pioneered much of the Gospel music that would yet be sung for many years. The Blackwoods and Statesmen would also own their own record label that would produce and distribute the Gospel by song for many years with groups like the Happy Goodmans, Carolinians, Dixie Echoes, and of course Blackwood Brothers and Statesmen all being on their label.
