My Humble tribute to the Genius that was Thom Bell. Songwriter, Arranger, producer & pianist extraordinaire, who sadly passed away in December 2022. Thom was one of the leading lights in the Philadelphia music scene in the late 60s and 70s and was instrumental along with Gamble & Huff, and a couple of others, in helping to create the Sound Of Philadelphia. The first half of the playlist concentrates on his songwriting. Here are the best of the amazing songs he wrote and co wrote (often with Linda Creed). They are in a rough chronological order apart from the video with three versions of "Love Comes Easy" and the Ramsey Lewis version of "People Make The World Go Round" which seemed a fitting finale to the Songwirting part of the Playlist. Now added the best of the tracks he Arranged, produced, or played on. That section starts with "Gang Wars". The playlist finishes off with Chuck Mangione's "Eyes Of The Veiled Temptress" album on which Thom Bell wrote, Played on, Arranged and Produced. RIP Thom Bell. Thank you for helping to make our lives just that little bit better with your wonderful music. ❤ it will live on forever. Many Thanks to Robbie Vincent for suggesting the Playlist name on his show.
