What a wonderful event. In 1981, the Original Dulcimer Players Club put on an exposition featuring the dulcimer and the many cultures that consider it their own. There were instruments and players from the gypsy, Ukranian, Russian-German, Chinese and American traditions as well as jam sessions. These videos are among the first I made with my newly acquired camera and while not what I would call top quality, they capture the event and allow you to journey back in time to see what we were doing back then. As an side for the techies, the camera was a JVC GC-3300. See it here: http://www.labguysworld.com/JVC_GC-33... It was a two piece affair and 120VAC powered so I was tethered to an AC outlet. And low light? Forget it! Oh how times have changed! All these recordings have been processed to restore them as much as possible. The video levels have been adjusted, the color has been corrected as much as possible (that camera didn't do green very well) and they have been run through NeatVideo to reduce the excessive noise level. The audio has been equalized. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do much yet for the "popping", which is the result of a poorly designed automatic level control in the recorder.
