Selections from various editions of Ziegfeld Follies

Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 was the second Ziegfeld Follies produced after Florenz Ziegfeld Jr.'s death in 1932. The Shubert Company kept the legendary Ziegfeld name alive in the Depression by producing editions of the Follies for a few years after his death. Although the publicity stated "Mrs. Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. (Billie Burke) Presents," the large and experienced Shubert staff was listed clearly in the program. Songs by Vernon Duke and Ira Gershwin. Played on the Steinway concert grand piano formerly owned by composer Dana Suesse (1909-1987), restored by Cantabile Piano Workshop, New York.
