Me and my mates formed a garage-band in those heady days of first-wave punk rock in the late '70s. We used to change the name of the band every other week, but "Jelly Helicopters" is the one people remember. When we started, all we had was one guitar, 3 chords and a tape recorder (mono if you please) but we recorded loads of stuff - most of it raw and unrehearsed. The one thing we didn't have (besides any discernible ability you might argue) was home video equipment. We didn't have YouTube in the olden days either, so we couldn't share it with the world and annoy everyone... meaning all this great stuff has been gathering dust for decades. Well, that's about to change - so buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride. I make no apologies for you hating it. Back in 1978 hating stuff was seen as a very positive thing. Viva la revolution ;-) The two clips at the end are from sometime in the '80s when I came back to see my old mates (having not played drums for a good few years) and I sat in on a couple of songs. Clearly I'd forgotten everything I learned.
