This playlist is dedicated to the French singer Amanda Lear, featuring clips from throughout her career: music videos, TV performances, interviews and more. If you love the art of Amanda, this is the right place for you! Amanda Lear worked as a model in the early 60s, but her biggest success came in the 1970s - encouraged by David Bowie, she started to sing. With albums "I Am a Photograph" and "Sweet Revenge" Lear achieved the peak of popularity and the song "Follow Me" became an immortal disco anthem. In the 1980s, Lear found her place in television. Having reinvented herself as a charming TV star, she hosted many successful shows in Italy, including "Premiatissima" and "W le donne". The following decades saw her return to disco-dance music with such albums as "Alter Ego", "Heart" and "Brief Encounters" which not only proved she still was a disco queen, but also showed her more mature side. Despite success in music, Amanda has never forgotten her greatest passion: painting. This versatile artist has been exhibiting her acclaimed paintings in many famous galleries across the Europe. Amanda Lear is an icon, a living legend. Up to this day no one knows when and where she was born. In 1939, 1941 or 1946? In Hong Kong, Saigon or Switzerland? The artist wants to remain a mysterious and enigmatic woman. She still maintains this myth and that's what her fans love her for. UPDATE JULY 2015: Following recent copyright claims, I had to take most of Amanda Lear videos off YouTube, mostly clips she's made for Italian television. I'm really sorry for that, I know some of them were really popular, but I'd rather do that than risk having my whole channel permanently deleted.
