Genesis are a highly influential British rock band formed in 1967 at the Charterhouse School in Surrey, England. Over a career spanning more than three decades, they became one of the world's most successful and adaptive acts, transitioning seamlessly from pioneering progressive rock icons into a global pop-rock phenomenon. Keyboardist Tony Banks and bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford remained the only constant members throughout their fluid history.
