Willy Winarko is an Indonesian rapper, songwriter and radio announcer. He is known for his collaboration with Rinni Wulandari on AMI Awards-nominated song‘Independent Girl’ Willy is an exceptionally talented MC and music artist with the ability to deliver sharp and powerful flow while retaining both wit and charm. His first encounter with rap and hip-hop was during his four years living in Houston, Texas, with his family. However it wasn’t until he was back living in Jakarta where he started to spit his own verse that transcends the barriers of language as he can rap in both English and Indonesian with real sense of authenticity. Willy has cited rap talents like Talib Kewli, Immortal Technique, Chamillionaire and Lupe Fiasco as influences in his creations. Believing that rap is something that one feels and not what one makes believe it to be, Willy has been able to connect with his audience through the energetic delivery and his well-crafted punch line, as well as the authenticity of his rhymes.
