Welcome to the first installment of my new side project - Demonic Chronicles. It all began at the end of 2013. I was looking up the band Breaking Benjamin on the Internet. At the time they were still on hiatus, and like many of the fans, I was constantly listening to their songs in the hopes of a reunion. While looking through playlists on YouTube, I found one of their songs "Blow Me Away". But this one was a little different. The song had some fan-made alterations which made the vocals sound deeper and "demonic". I had to download it. But before I could do so, the video was deleted. Not wanting to say goodbye to such an awesome sound, I downloaded an original copy of the song, along with the program Audacity in the hopes of recreating my own version. Although I was able to emulate the sound, I had to put the project on the back burner due to personal issues related to a failing job search. Now fast forward to July 2016. I was again listening to Breaking Benjamin songs on YouTube, and was really excited because I would be seeing them and Disturbed play live at the end of the month. By what seemed like a miracle, I came across a newer "demonic" remix of "Blow Me Away" and had a burst of nostalgia! I then found a demonic version of "Afterlife" by Avenged Sevenfold. I knew then I would have to revisit the project I started nearly 3 years earlier. At the end of August, I went out on a medical leave. During this time, I began to produce the very same playlist you will see here. In homage to the journey of this new project, the first album begins with "Blow Me Away" (my first demon-ification) and concludes with "Afterlife" (my favorite demon-ification). So without further adieu, here is the first chapter of my ongoing anthology of metal remixes! It is some of my favorite work to date, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Please stick around as more will be coming soon! -Mike Risi
