Silvertown Auditorium was the venue for a festive concert held for our Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider on Saturday, 03 December 2022. In his brief opening address, the Chief Apostle said, “I am very happy to be here. Nothing else to say. Music please!” The programme began with "Let us all unite and celebrate together" and set the tone for the evening. This special occasion included a range of different musical items that aimed to leave those in attendance with an ardent feeling of festivity. The performance by the choir and orchestra was simply breathtaking and the hard work put in by all the participants culminated in a beautiful concert. The programme also incorporated a choir singing two South African traditional songs, namely Emarabini, a song about an orphan. Keeping with the spirit of Advent, the feeling behind the song is driven by a sense of hope rather than despair. Thixo onothando (God of love) rounded off the traditional songs. The final items of the programme concluded a majestic concert. "What can we do together in Christ?" These were the words of the Chief Apostle when he addressed the audience after the concert. Thereafter, he had a special message to the Deacons who were invited to attend. He started by expressing his gratitude to the Deacons and referred to them as the peacemakers in the congregation. This was followed by a special task given to the ministers: to take care of the spiritual orphans in their congregation. He encouraged the Deacons to take this task to heart and develop it. After the closing prayer, those in attendance left the auditorium with a warm and festive feeling in their hearts. The concert also served as a blessed preparation for the divine service that was to take place in Saxonsea on Sunday, 04 December 2022.
