Welcome to a collection of original songs where every tune begins with an idea. These are character songs, musical stories, and quirky concepts that wander through comedy, satire, and the occasional heartfelt moment. You’ll meet birdwatchers, truck drivers, robots, oatmeal enthusiasts, and other unusual characters who somehow found their way into my notebook. Musically, you’ll hear everything from acoustic folk and rock to Hawaiian-inspired instrumentals and unexpected detours. I enjoy following an idea wherever it leads rather than staying in one genre. Although many people know me for composing music for SpongeBob SquarePants, these songs come from a different corner of my imagination. They’re simply the kinds of songs I love to write—offbeat, melodic, story-driven, and hopefully memorable. If you enjoy original music with humor, personality, and a handmade spirit, I hope you’ll find something here that makes you smile… or at least leaves you wondering what I was thinking. — Steve Belfer
