Said period is the predominant focus, but additionally there's a good number of exceptions from other decades. Despite being constantly updated and expanded, this is not necessarily a carefully curated or comprehensive list, there's inevitably going to be several gems which I am yet to discover, forgetting, or that haven't made it here for any other reason. Instead of aiming to encompass every genre, this covers folk/psych/jazz/pop/new wave/darkwave/post-punk and related subgenres, together with ambient/electronic as well as a touch of noise/industrial, plus select soundtracks and more avant-garde works orbiting all these territories, meaning certain things which might be well worth a listen in their own right will be excluded if they don't fall under the scope of this playlist. However within the aforementioned and still quite large range there's everything from casual straightforward fun to actual classics and obscure underground masterpieces, with plenty of experimentation and eccentricity. A bunch of traditional music is also featured, as well as some visual-kei.
