Jean Paul Niquin-Merkel is a French music writer/composer that made stock music during the 90's and 2000's. This is a playlist of all of his work, by chronological order. He has touched on many genres, which could easily belong in Y2K, Frutiger Aero, Encartawave and Vaporwave playlists, or even in Sonic soundtracks. His first 1990 album, Modulor, has an especially strong Vaporwave feel. I actually don't remember how I've discovered him, I just remembered his name one day and decided to look it up online. To my surprise, all of his discography is available online, but no biography. After some research, I have found only one use of his music in The Strongest Man Alive (1999, SACEM). Most of his work has been used under the Koka Media company and UPM, which have been dressing many French TV channels with his music during the 90's and 2000's (TF1, M6, Arte, Canal J...). Both Koka Media and UPM do not list any of their music use, for shame.
