"We wanted to create a minimalist album that 'hints at jazz, without being pure jazz.' In terms of production, the ideal we strove for was the sound of a Scandinavian trio—a standard set by e.s.t. (Esbjörn Svensson Trio)—characterized by a specific combination of acoustic warmth, subtle electronics, and that 'icy' Northern minimalism. Ultimately, we simplified everything as much as possible and stuck strictly to the basic sound of an 'acoustic jazz trio,' making sure to remain within the bounds of simple minimalist forms without any unnecessary complexity."
