Scientific ZenTuning is based upon the order of universal frequencies and on an just intonation interval design. Scientific Pitch was first proposed in 1713 by French physicist Joseph Sauveur, promoted briefly by Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi in the 19th century, then advocated by the Schiller Institute beginning in the 1980s. In 2013 the System of Scientific Pitch was further developed by Cosmo Welfare (zenmusic.eu/zenmachine/scientific_pitch.html)
